From textiles to interiors.
The story behind May Home began in 1982 — with textiles, materials and a family business that would later grow into furniture and interior product development.
The story behind May Home began with textiles.
More than four decades ago, Mei Yunxian became part of an early generation of textile entrepreneurs in China. Over the years, she built extensive experience across home textiles, from fabrics and bedding to curtains.
That knowledge of material, craft and production became the foundation from which May Home would later grow.

Our roots are in textiles.
Textiles are not simply one category within our work. They shape the way we understand upholstered furniture — from texture, colour and hand feel to drape, durability and how a fabric performs once it becomes part of a finished piece.
This textile-led perspective continues to influence the way we develop upholstered and mixed-material furniture today.
Art and design brought a new direction.
Siduo Chen graduated from the China Academy of Art with a master's degree in Fine Arts. She later joined the family business in the interiors and home furnishings industry.
Her background in art and design gradually extended the family's textile expertise into furniture, product development and interior projects — connecting material knowledge with a more considered approach to form, proportion and space.

Two manufacturing bases, one way of working.
Today, May Home operates two manufacturing bases in Jiaxing and Jinhua, Zhejiang. Jiaxing focuses on home textiles and export production, while Jinhua specialises in furniture combining timber and upholstery.
Together, the two facilities are supported by more than 100 trained and experienced team members, producing for clients across North America, South America, Europe, Australia and parts of Southeast Asia.
